Turning Machine

Precision turning shapes shafts, bushings, and other rotational components to tight dimensional tolerance. Built for parts that need to fit precisely into bearings, housings, or other mating assemblies.

What's Included

Turning removes material from a rotating workpiece to produce cylindrical, tapered, or contoured round parts — geometry that milling and sheet metal fabrication aren't built to produce efficiently. Anywhere a part needs to be perfectly round, concentric, or dimensionally precise around a rotational axis, turning is the process that gets it there.

This capability is typically used for shafts, bushings, spacers, pins, and other rotational components that feed into larger assemblies — parts that need to fit precisely into bearings, housings, or other mating components where even small dimensional variance can cause binding, excess play, or premature wear. Because these parts often sit at the mechanical heart of an assembly, the tolerance requirements tend to be tighter than for general fabrication work.

Whether the job calls for a single custom shaft made to a one-off drawing or a production run of identical rotational parts, turning delivers the dimensional consistency needed for reliable fit. Stock material is chucked and machined to the exact diameter, taper, or profile specified, with each part checked against tolerance before it moves downstream.

Turned components rarely stand alone — they're almost always destined for assembly into a larger mechanical system, which means consistency across a run matters as much as accuracy on any single part. Our turning process is set up to hold that consistency across both prototype quantities and full production volumes.

How It Works

1
Setup
Stock material chucked and programmed per drawing.
2
Turning
Material removed to produce the required diameter and profile.
3
Inspection
Dimensions verified against tolerance before handoff.
